Bachelor of Science Degree

The bachelor of science degree prepares beginning-level generalist professional nurses to deliver care to individuals in a variety of health-care settings, meet the state requirements for eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), and obtain a sound basis for graduate study in nursing. Potential applicants to the program are highly encouraged to attend an open house event or an informational session. Please see the event calendar on the homepage for the upcoming events.
 

 

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing Program Pathways

High School Direct Entry in Nursing

For high school graduates.

August admission only.

This program admits high school graduates who will complete their Bachelor of Science in nursing degree in four years. With direct entry into our nursing program, a student’s academic path is secure.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

For current UH and transferring college students without an RN.

August admission only.

This program admits current UH Manoa, transfer and veteran students. The program is designed to prepare traditional and veteran students for graduate education and career development.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (For ADN Graduates from UH Consortium)

For ADN graduates from UH Consortium program.

August admission only (Maui and Kauai)

August and January admission (Kapiolani)

This program admits associate degree nursing (ADN) graduates from the following UH Consortium programs: Maui College, Kauaʻi Community College, and Kapiʻolani Community College. The program is designed to provide an efficient bridge to the baccalaureate for the RN with an associate degree from a UH Consortium program.

RN to BS (For Non-UH Consortium Graduates)

For ADN graduates  from non-UH Consortium programs with less than 2 years of RN experience.

August admission only. 

This program admits associate degree nursing (ADN) graduates from non-UH Consortium programs with less than two years of RN experience. The program is designed to provide an efficient bridge to the baccalaureate for the associate degree nurse with less than 2 years RN experience.

Executive RN to BS

For ADN graduates with 2 or more years of RN experience.

August admission only with required transition courses in the summer prior.

This program admits associate degree nursing (ADN) graduates with two or more years of RN experience. The program is designed to provide a transition to the baccalaureate for the experienced associate degree RN.

Note: The School offers the program when a cohort of 30 students are admitted. UHM Nursing will admit cohorts in coorperation with employers as requested.
