GEPN Students Volunteer Medical Services at the 2017 Great Aloha Run

UH Mānoa Nursing Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN) students volunteered at the 2017 Great Aloha Run. More than 20,000 runners participated with 2,000 volunteers facilitating and supporting the runners. GEPN program director Rosalie Garcia and 35 GEPN students volunteered at the event and provided medical care to those in need. This was the third year that GEPN students volunteered.

Over the past 32 years, the Great Aloha Run has raised more than $11 million for over 150 non-profit health and human service organizations and community groups throughout Hawaiʻi, such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, BSA Aloha Council, Girl Scouts Hawaiʻi, Leeward Special Olympics, MWR Facilities, United Cerebral Palsy of Hawaiʻi, the Variety School of Hawaiʻi, Palama Settlement, the Hawaiʻi High School Athletic Association and many more.
