New Continuing Competency Regulations

2017 marked the start of new regulations for nursing in Hawai‘i which requires that LPN and RN nurses complete continuing competency activities in order to renew their licenses in 2019 and thereafter. The Hawai‘i State Center for Nursing is dedicated to ensuring statewide awareness. To aid in this, HSCN is speaking to partners about these new requirements and has developed a webpage focusing on continuing competency for nurses

In addition the Hawai‘i Board of Nursing, has clearly defined these new regulations and what counts for each of the nine learning activity options in a guidebook located on their webpage. To gain more information and understanding about these new regulations please visit the Hawai‘i Board of Nursing website and inquire to the BON should you have additional questions or seek clarification.
