Alexandra Michel inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Nurse-Midwives
Alexandra Michel, PhD, APRN, CNM, FACNM, joined NAWSON as the Francis A. Matsuda Post-Doctoral Nursing Research Fellow in 2020. Her program of research focuses on maternal-child health and she is currently exploring what is entailed in adequate prenatal care.
She received her MSN from Wayne State University and became a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 2008. She received her PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2019. Her dissertation focused on assessing the interrater reliability of the Apgar Score. She is a veteran and spouse to an active duty soldier. She is also a Jonas Veteran’s Scholar recipient.
In the Spring of 2021, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Nurse-Midwives. This fellowship is a great honor bestowed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives upon midwives who have demonstrated leadership, clinical excellence, outstanding scholarship, and professional achievement that has merited special recognition both within and outside of the midwifery profession.
