Annual GEPN Celebration Recognized Cohort 10

On Saturday, September 1, 2018, the Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN) held its annual GEPN Celebration at the Pomaikai Ballrooms to recognize GEPN students who have completed their pre-licensure year. More than 100 guests attended including outgoing GEPN students, family, faculty, staff, and administrators. The event started with a prayer by GEPN Cohort 10 student Mika Tanji followed by remarks from Dr. Kristine Qureshi, PhD, RN, CEN, PHNA-BC, FAAN, associate dean of research and global health, GEPN coordinator Chris Stutes, MLA, and Cohort 10 students. Student awards, faculty award, and GEPN completion certificates were presented.

GEPN students selected the following individuals as recipients of the student awards:

  • Januaria Balajadia, Leadership Award
  • Kelsey Ennila, Kahiau Award
  • Michelle Quensell, Community Service Award

Students also selected Donna Bernhard as the GEPN Nurse Educator of the Year. The evening culminated with GEPN students reciting the Florence Nightingale Pledge. GEPN students who have completed their pre-licensure year are eligible to take the N-CLEX exam and continue with their education into the master’s or doctoral pathways.
