Early in Courtnee Nunakawa’s nursing career, she developed a passion for underserved populations negatively affected by social determinants of health. Her focus is on primary and biopsychosocial healthcare, health promotion, disease prevention, and health of populations and communities.
Courtnee is a practicing Nurse Practitioner at the Department of Veteran Affairs residing in the VA’s Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Recovery Rehabilitation Program (PRRP), providing Adult Medicine to Active Duty Service Members and Veterans. Previously Courtnee provided adult medicine in community based and outreach settings to homeless and/or previously homeless veterans on Oahu and Neighbor Islands.
