Offering Mental Health Services to Support Students
The Hawaii Keiki: Healthy & Ready to Learn Program offers Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) students virtual, confidential mental health services. Mental Health Services are provided by licensed Nurse Practitioners (APRN) who have specialized training and credentials in mental health. The Mental Health team is supported by the HK nurses in order to successfully identify students in need of additional support and to facilitate virtual visits.
Students are welcome to either walk in or make an appointment through the health room or can be referred by school personnel or parent/guardian. All appointments are conducted virtually.
Goal
The goal of the Hawaii Keiki Mental Health Program is to provide mental health services facilitated by a supportive and caring school-nursing team who can assist students by providing mental health assessments and appropriate counseling and referral for mental healthcare concerns.
