Two-Step Application Process

Application Requirements are found in the online applications listed below.

Step 1 – Apply to UH Manoa Undergraduate Admissions

  • Required for all new applicants and returning, transferring, and unclassified UH Manoa students
  • Fee: $70
  • Choose Nursing for your major

Step 2 – Apply to Nursing’s Centralized Application Service

  • Required for ALL applicants
  • Fee: $50
  • Select the “Online ADN to BS” for the Planned Course of Study.

Admission Requirements


Completion of an Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma Program in Nursing

Grade Point Average (GPA)

UH System graduate: GPA of 2.0 or better

Non-UH System graduate: GPA of 2.5 or better

RN Licensure

UH System ADN graduate: Current unrestricted RN license in the United States or evidence of passing the NCLEX-RN exam by the start of the second semester of the program.

Non-UH System ADN or Diploma graduate: Current unrestricted RN license in the United States at the time of application.

We recommend that prospective applicants attend an online informational session. Visit the UHM Nursing event page for a listing of upcoming events.

Transfer Applicants

Check the UH System Course Transfer Database and cross-reference their equivalent courses with the UH Manoa General Catalog for designations. Information on these requirements can be found in the UH Manoa General Catalog and UHM advising centers. Any missing graduation requirements will need to be met by the end of the nursing program.

English Language Proficiency

If an applicant’s native language is not English or has not obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an English speaking college, then the applicant must submit official Test of English a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores with a minimum score of 600.
