Mandatory Trainings for POD Volunteers
COVID-19 Vaccine Point of Dispensing Operations (POD) volunteers who are registered with the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) are required to watch the following training videos.
- All volunteers must watch video #1: POD Training
- Volunteers who have not completed a Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) training within the last year, must watch video #2: BBP Training
- Volunteers who have a current BBP training on file with the MRC, do not need to watch video #2.
Submit Your Information to Receive MRC Credit for the Trainings
All volunteers must submit their information below to receive training credit with the MRC. Complete the registration below and click submit. Your personal information will be provided to the Hawaii Department of Health Medical Reserve Corps. These trainings were developed by UH Manoa Nursing in partnership with the Hawaii DOH Public Health Nursing Branch, Immunization Branch, and MRC.
Training #1: How to Work in a COVID-19 Point of Dispensing Operations (POD) Clinic
This training video provides healthcare workers and other responders with the essential knowledge and skills required to effectively and safely work in a COVID-19 Vaccine Point of Dispensing Operations (POD) program.
Training #2: Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure (BBP) Safety Training
This training video provides healthcare workers and other responders with important safety information about bloodborne pathogens including exposure prevention, standard precautions, sharps safety and exposure response.
