Hawaii State Center for Nursing
Announces the
Pacific Institute of Nursing
Advancing Practice, Education & Research Conference

March 30, 31 & April 1, 2011
Honolulu, HI

The Hawaii State Center for Nursing, in collaboration with nursing organizations and educational institutions throughout the state, is pleased to announce its 2011 Pacific Institute of Nursing conference focused on best practices in education, practice and research. We expect 300 participants from the US and Pacific and hope that you can join us to share in the learning and passion for improving the quality of health care.

The profession of Nursing is dedicated to improving health for individuals and communities through the provision of evidence-based, safe, and quality health care. Nurses in Hawaii stand at the gateway between East and West and as such, are prepared to address cross cultural issues and trends impacting health in resource enriched and constrained settings. The willingness to embrace lifelong learning defines our profession and the Pacific Institute of Nursing provides a venue for communication, skills building, and learning with and from each other. Building on a 20-year history, the Institute represents a coalition of Hawaii organizations across practice, education, and research dedicated to building a vibrant nursing learning community.

The objectives of the PIN are to:
1. Foster the delivery of safe, quality patient care
2. Enhance the translation of research findings into practice & policy
3. Provide a venue for capacity-building partnerships across the practice, education & research sectors
4. Disseminate best practices in an informal environment
