The 2019 UH Manoa Nursing Bachelor of Science New Student Orientation is a mandatory two-day event for students who will start the program in August 2019. Students begin the 1st semester of nursing coursework (Nurs 210/L, 211, 212) in fall 2019.
Agenda
A detailed agenda for both days will be emailed to 1st semester students in early August 2019.
On Thursday, August 22, 2019, in the afternoon at UH Campus Center Ballroom, UH Manoa Nursing will host the 2019 Pledging Ceremony event for 1st semester students with the option for family and friends to attend this portion of orientation. At Pledging Ceremony, students will recite the Nightingale Pledge to signify their commitment to provide health care to the best of their abilities for their patients. Light refreshments will be provided.
All other activities during New Student Orientation are only for students.
Cost
New Student Orientation is mandatory for students. There is no cost to attend the Pledging Ceremony event for family and friends.
1st Day Attire
- Green UH Manoa Nursing polo shirt
- Black slacks
- Solid black covered shoes
2nd Day Attire
- Wear clothing and covered shoes that are comfortable and can get dirty.
