University of Hawaii at Manoa is a member of NEXus (The Nursing Education Exchange). NEXus is non-profit course sharing consortium where universities offer their online graduate nursing courses. The NEXus consortium  allows graduate students enrolled at member colleges and universities to take courses that may not be offered at their home institution for a common tuition price. The University of Hawaii at Manoa (UH Manoa) NEXus Campus Coordinator   facilitates graduate student selection of course offerings.

Financial Considerations

A student enrolling in a course through NEXus will pay a NEXus Common tuition rate per credit hour directly to the teaching Institution. Visit the NEXus Common Price page for current rates and for details about what is covered by the fees. As with all courses, the student is  responsible for the cost of books and educational materials.

NEXus courses may qualify for financial aid. If you are receiving financial aid and plan on taking a NEXus course, please complete and route a consortium agreement to the UH Manoa  NEXus Campus Staff Coordinator. The completed form will be routed to the teaching school’s Financial Aid office for completion.

Registration Deadlines

The student is responsible for meeting the registration and payment deadlines of the institution that is offering the course. In some cases, the schedule may not coincide with the UH Manoa academic calendar. Advanced financial and academic planning is required to ensure the student can access the requested course. View a complete list of registration deadlines for NEXus institutions.

Course Catalog

 Academic Considerations

  • NEXus courses may only be taken to meet elective or cognate course requirements.
  • Students enrolled in a NEXus course must meet all course requirements.
  • Students are encouraged to contact the NEXus course faculty in advance to ensure they understand the course requirements (for example, prerequisite courses, vacation periods, on-campus requirements, technology requirements, synchronous versus asynchronous discussions).

Transferring Credit Back to UH Manoa Nursing

Upon completion of the NEXus course, students are required to submit a request for a copy of their transcript to be sent to UH Manoa. For more information about transferring credits, visit the UH Manoa Registration and Course Completion Procedures page.
