UHM Nursing Dean Comments on the Current Nursing Workforce Supply

Dean Mary Boland discusses with Kristen Consillio, Star Advertiser Reporter, that although the supply for nurses exceeds demand now, the demand for nurses will increase when the wave of baby boomer retire in the near future.

Committed to keeping Hawaii graduates in Hawaii, UHM nursing has expanded enrollment in the graduate program for specialty course work, is collaborating with the health care community to create a nurse residency program, and is planning to offer a clinical training course in spring 2011 for recent graduates.
