SNA Leadership Group Travels to National Convention

The National Student Nurses Association’s (NSNA) 66th Annual Convention was held in Nashville, TN from April 4-8, 2018 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. Six UHM Nursing students and Gary Glauberman, SNA Faculty Advisor attended the convention to represent Student Nurses Association (SNA) at UH Manoa.

An estimated 3,500 participants and attendees from nursing schools across the nation participated. Keynote speakers from around the world lead sessions and workshops on a wide variety of nursing topics and issues. Student delegates participated in resolutions hearings and debates on important national issues to create new policies for NSNA. An exhibit hall featured representatives from professional nursing organizations, schools, hospitals, NCLEX review companies, and a career counseling center to review resumes.

Participants were able to enroll in an NCLEX-RN Mini Review Course. The course provided an overview of the detailed NCLEX test plan. Major categories were reviewed and students practiced answering multiple choice questions. Participants were also provided test review materials to take home.

The NSNA Conference featured many great presentations on professional nursing, global health and other nursing topics. SNA hosted a fundraising table where they sold custom nursing themed coasters, stickers, and tropical colored plumeria flower clips to raise funds for SNA activities. The conference provided student participants educational learning experiences as well as professional networking opportunities.
