Campus visits postponed for UH Manoa nursing dean search process

The University of Hawaii at Manoa was informed that one of the Nancy Atmospera-Walch School of Nursing (NAWSON) dean search finalists Dr. Moroney has decided to withdraw her candidacy due to personal reasons. In light of this new development and given that this position is considered a high-profile, critical position at the university, we believe in ensuring a viable search process is followed, with a full slate of finalists/candidates.

A difficult decision was made to postpone the NAWSON dean search for approximately three months in order to allow more time for the impacts of the pandemic on higher education, and in particular, on nursing schools around the world, to lessen. The other candidates will remain finalists and will be part of the campus visit phase once the search is restarted.

It is anticipated that the search will restart in April. The search advisory committee members will remain the same to ensure consistency and continuity in the process during this postponement.
