Biography
Michelle began her nursing career on the Adolescent Medical-Surgical Unit at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland. After three years, she continued her career in Adolescent Medical Surgical Nursing at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children on the Makanalani Unit (now known as Wilcox) for seven years. It was there that she was introduced to pediatric oncology patient care.
After obtaining her MS degree and certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Michelle began to work at Kaiser Permanente’s Outpatient Pediatric Clinic where she provided primary care to patients from birth through adolescence. Teaching and helping children and their caregivers to understand the importance of health promotion and maintenance was a highlight during her 7 and a half years at Kaiser Permanente.
Now, as an educator of students in the pediatric clinical setting, Michelle’s goal is to develop the next generation of excellent nurses.
