Biography
Maria Guerriero has been in Hawaii since 2001, and at UH Manoa Nursing since 2004. She is an adult psychiatric nurse practitioner that has training as a family, individual and group therapist. She has worked in New Jersey, New York and Hawaii in both community and acute settings including the psychiatric emergency room. For 15 years, she has worked mostly with underserved populations, the homeless, and those with severe mental illness. She believes that we can heal from anything and focuses on recovery, wellness, and quality of life with her clients. She seeks to integrate holistic, complementary and alternative practices into her healing work. This includes art therapy, energy healing, chakra clearing, meditation, grounding and breathing. Maria’s hobbies include creating art, hiking, cooking, spending time in nature, paddling, and focusing on her own healing and personal evolution. She has traveled to more than 40 countries and taught in a study abroad program in Argentina that focused on trans-cultural care.
