Biography

Bridget Miranda, a former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Careers in Nursing Program Awardee, began her career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a Doctoral-Prepared Nurse Practitioner, she specializes in caring for high risk infants who have been discharged from the NICU as well as patients with urological health needs.

Bridget focuses on creating a pathway towards improved neurocognitive development of high risk infants by promoting maternal mental health screening throughout the continuum to reduce undetected postpartum depression. As a recipient of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing – The Graduate Nursing Student Academy PhD/DNP Collaboration Award, she placed emphasis on the integration of nursing practice and health policy to ensure equitable representation of the maternal-child health population through translational research.

She continues reaching out for new opportunities to enhance health access by working in remote clinics and hospitals while promoting quality improvement of healthcare delivery. A fellowship with the Randall Lewis Healthcare Policy – Partners for Better Health propelled Bridget’s commitment to community and the essential collaboration between public health officers, community planners and builders, and healthcare professionals.
